There is no reason for me to post about my second round NCAA tourney picks- because I am still in last place in all my pools – which is a shame – I was hoping for some Cinderella this year ( WISCONSIN or CORNELL – hell, I would have even settled for MISSOURI) – which just shows where my head is.
With all the BAD news going around – 2009 seemed the year for Cinderella. I can see the pre-game montages now – “No one thought they had a chance, and this team this year is giving Ollie Chambers of Branson, Missouri something to cheer for ( cut to 80 year old toothless man) – Ollie lost his job and the factory in town in Nov 2008 – and has since lost his health insurance..” Blah Blah Blah
It still would be enough to make me cry – but I think all the hormones haven’t left my body since pregnancy – ( I mean, who else cries at Law & Order every time JUSTICE PREVAILS) – c’mon – I know, I am appalled too.
Anyways – lots of hub-bub this week with the NFL owners meeting this week in Dana Point. Now, I know NFL owners have a lot of money – but in the midst of NFL layoffs and A HUGE FUCKING RECESSION, the owners meeting was held at the St. Regis – where an ocean view room can run you a measly $950.
Who is doing their PR – T.O?

I love ME some ME... especially with the mud-bath sensory invigoration spa package!
The big talk of the week is whether the NFL will extend its season from 16 games to 17 or 18. Meaning that the 4 pre-season games would be cut down – to either 3 or 2. I mean – isn’t the season long enough? The Super Bowl is in February now ( in 1986, the game was on Jan 26, in 2010, it will be on February 7), pre-season games are being played in Japan and London, and I have to listen to Joe Buck for way too long as it is.

Hi, I'm a hack
I have season tickets to the Chargers. Now, the pre-season games cost just the same as the regular season games – so why do I care if you extend the season? There must be increased TV revenue, or else why would the NFL want to do it?
The point of pre-season is to give veterans a time to rest – and the newbies a time to see if they can work in the system. With less preseason – that means veterans have more time on the field.
With the rise in player injuries over the years – I am interested to hear what the players union response to the longer season will be.
WAIT – I get to play more games – for the SAME MONEY!
